Youth camp starts Saturday
Sacramento State University is holding its annual youth baseball skills camp on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Sac State baseball field.
The free camp is limited to 150 youth ages 8-18. Participants will receive a free lunch and a sports bottle.
Players will receive instruction on pitching, hitting, fielding and base running techniques from former MLB players like the Brewers’ Greg Vaughn, Cardinal’s Fernando Vina and Blue Jays’ Lloyd Moseby.
Check-in time is at 8 a.m.

Little League
Olivehurst-Linda registrations soon
The Olivehurst-Linda Little League will be holding registrations on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Sept. 2 from 6-8 p.m at Neighbor’s Pizza on McGowan Parkway.
Adult League signups
Adult men’s, women’s, co-ed and senior fall sign-ups will be held at the Wilson Sports Complex at Riverfront Park. The deadline is Sunday at 5 p.m.
The entry fee is $425.
Drop Zone team to hold tryouts
The Drop Zone 18A fast pitch team will hold tryouts today at 6 p.m. at Lindhurst High School in Olivehurst.
